Alaska’s New Energy Rebate Program Helps Homebuyers Save Thousands

The overall eligibility requirements are straight forward:

• The home’s foundation must be completed and inspected on or after January 2, 2025.

• The home must be owner-occupied.
• The rebate is restricted to single-family residences, duplexes, triplexes and fourplexes where the homeowner occupies one unit.
• Payment is contingent on new home construction being completed within 18 months of application.

Once you submit a completed application with all required supporting documents, the AHFC will review all application materials and if you’re deemed eligible, you will receive full approval once the home construction is completed. Then funds will be distributed to the homeowner. Rebates are limited to funds available, and applicants should consult a tax professional for any tax consequences.
