Jess Hall has
been building award winning homes for the past
32 years. In the past
12 years, Hall Quality Homes has constructed more
than 1000 homes in the Palmer-Wasilla area. The Alaska
State Home Builders Association selected Jess as
the Builder of the year in 1986, 1987, 1995 and 2002.
Jess has been presented with the Golden Spike Award
for "Excellence in Building" numerous times
by the Kenai Home Builders and the Mat-Su Home Builders
Associations.
Hall Quality
Homes is a leader in the construction of new homes
using the latest in
energy efficient techniques. During the 1995, 1997,
1998, 2001, and 2006 Parade of Homes, the Home Builders
Association recognized Hall Quality Homes with the
Alaska Governors Award for Energy Efficient Construction.
In 2000, Jess received the Energy Value Housing Award
from the National Home Builders Research Center,
and in 2002 he received the Outstanding Achievement
Award from the United States Environmental Protection
Agency and has been recognized by them as an Energy
Star Builder. Jess’ Philosophy of energy efficient
construction goes beyond savings on energy costs.
While this is certainly important, Jess feels the
methods of construction he uses provide a much more
comfortable and healthy environment.
Hall Quality
Homes is a leader in the construction of new homes
using the latest in
energy efficient techniques. All homes built by Hall
Quality Homes are constructed to stringent FIVE STAR
ENERGY standards. This standard is achieved by using
air tight techniques, including Low E Argon Windows,
92% sealed combustion gas forced air furnace, R-21
wall insulation, R-44 ceiling insulation and a Heat
Recovery Ventilator. This system supplies the home
with a constant supply of fresh air with controlled
humidity levels. Jess built his first "Super
Insulated" home as a demonstration project in
1985. Since then, he has continued to refine his
construction techniques. Years ago, Jess saw mold
being a major concern in residential construction.
Mold issues are now a major legal issue in the U.S.
In an effort to eliminate this problem each home
is equipped with a mechanical ventilation system.
He has shared his knowledge and experience with builders
throughout the state as an instructor with the Alaska
Craftsman Home Program. In 1997, Hall Quality Homes
was presented with the Building Innovation in Home
Ownership Award, presented by the Department of Housing
and Urban Development. The result is a home designed
and built for Alaska.
Jess Hall has been President of
two local associations; the Kenai Peninsula Home
Builders Association and the Mat-Su Home Builders
Association, as well as State President for the Alaska
Home Builders Association and Chairman for numerous
local and state committees. He served two terms as
a National Representative for the National Association
of Homebuilders, and is a past National Vice President
for NAHB. He is currently a National Committee Chairman
and Senior Life Director (NAHB). He has a degree
in business from the University of Idaho, and is
a member of the Palmer and Wasilla Chamber of Commerce,
and the BPOE.
